Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo launched the State government’s `Danta Bhagya’ scheme aimed at distributing free dentures to aged toothless people at Wenlock District Hospital on Friday January 8.
Addressing the gathering, Lobo said that the Congress government has been introducing many schemes to befit the public specially in the health sector. He opined that though the scheme will gain popularity in cities, there is need to creatw awareness about it in rural areas so that more BPL card holders could avail the facility.
Professor at Yenopoya Dental College Dr Ganesh Shenoy Panchmal, who is also the State President for Danta Bhagya scheme informed that senior BPL card holders can avail the benefit of this scheme in six dental hospitals across the district namely Srinivas Dental College, AJ Shetty Dental College, AB Shetty Dental College, College of Dental Sciences (KMC), KVG Dental College and Yenepoya Dental College.
DMO Rajeshwari Devi and DHO Dr Ramakrishna Rao were present among others.
