Mangaluru: A Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Corporator from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that Congress candidate and incumbent MLA from Dakshina Kannada (South) constituency is only sowing lies assuring growth to garner votes in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Interacting with the media on May 2 here, Corporator Roopa Bangera said Lobo was taking credit for the schemes and projects undertaken by the erstwhile BJP government and failed to utilise the funds for city development during his tenure. Out of released amount of Rs 59 Crore, only Rs 24 Crore were used towards the development of city leaving behind Rs 33 Crores, she claimed. In comparison BJP had utilised 90 percent of the allotted funds, she said.
Releasing handouts to showcase MLA Lobo’s failures, she said the incumbent MLA had only utilised central government and MCC sponsored projects and schemes to showcase his achievements.
Referring to the booklet released by MLA Lobo on his achievements, Roopa Bangera said it only contained lies and unrealistic assurances including those given in 2013 and urged the electorate to examine their conscience before casting the ballot.
