Mangaluru: An advanced 128 slice CT scan, renovated Fathima ward and sump and overhead tank were all formally inaugurated at Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) on Wednesday, March 13.
Bishop of Mangaluru and President of FMCI Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha inaugurated the facilities along with other guests. After inaugurating all these three infrastructures, Bishop Saldanha said that people should keep faith in Almighty always. “If we do so, God will bless us and every plan would get success”, he said and urged the people to utilize the benefit of these new infrastructures.
Meanwhile, contractors, designers, and engineers who worked for renovating Fathima ward and constructing overhead tank were felicitated during the founder’s day programme, organised at FMCI.
Informing about the features of newly installed 128 slice CT scanner, Radiology Department Head Dr. H B Suresh informed that the new CT scanner features improved patient safety with innovative low radiation dose, improved patient comfort with faster scans, reduced breath hold. It allows routine imaging and advanced clinical applications for Trauma, Cardiac and Neurovascular. The increased number of slices enables scanning of up to 50 centimeters in 5 seconds at an ultrahigh resolution. This means that the time the patient holds his breath during the scan is very low. This is especially useful for very sick and elderly patients”, he informed and added that 128 slice CT scanner significantly reduces power consumption and contributes to energy conservation.
Father Mullers Charitable Hospital Director Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho welcomed the gathering. Father Muller Medical College Hospital Administrators Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Rev.Fr Ajith B. Menezes, assistant administrator Rev. Fr. Vincent Lobo, administrator of Father Muller Hospital Thumbay Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Deralakatte Rev. Fr Vincent Saldanha among others were present.
The Founder’s day and Institutions’ day programme was also held during the same occasion. Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese Msgr Maxim Noronha was the chief guest. The stage programme was followed by cultural programmes and prize distribution.
