M’luru Bunder area sealed down after fish vendor tests positive for COVID-19

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district administration has sealed down the Bunder area (Dhakke) after a fish vendor was tested positive for Covid-19, on Tuesday.

Due to this, the fishing activities will come to halt for the next few days.

It may be recalled that a 27 year-old person from Yekkur was tested positive and since he was engaged in fish vending business, he had frequently visited the Bunder area and interacted with many persons here.

Further, many vendors in Bunder area too have complained of fever and cold. Considering this, the district administration order sealing down of the Bunder area to avert further spread.

Fresh fish vendors association working president Ashraf has urged district administration to shut fishing activities at old port area for next 10 days from Wednesday, June 24. He also urged to stop fishing activities at Ullal, Kotepura, Hoige Bazaar, Bengre, Farangipete, Kudroli, Kallapu and Maripalla to check the spread of disease.
