M’luru CA fraternity contributes medical equipments to Wenlock hospital

Mangaluru: The Chartered Accountants fraternity of Mangaluru Branch have joined hands and raised funds by the name “Mangaluru CA’s COVID Relief Fund” amounting to Rs. 7.41 Lakhs through which Medical equipments and items were handed over to the Wenlock District Hospital today based on their immediate requirements.

The items were handed over in the presence of Hon’ble Dy. Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V., Hon’ble District In-charge Minister Shri Kota Srinivas Poojary and Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel.

The Mangaluru Branch Chairman CA. K. Subramanya Kamath under whose leadership this drive was initiated said “The CA fraternity has always risen to the occasion whenever the situation demanded & this time it was no different. Playing the role of Partners in Nation Building, the profession always supports the Government in all their endeavors. We are very much pleased that we too could be a part of this fight against the pandemic & play a role in the efforts towards mitigating the risk”.

CA. Prasanna Shenoy M., Secretary of the Branch added “Great support has poured in from the fraternity which enabled us to take this drive further and make an impact to the lives of those battling from this virus. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our Corona warriors in this fight against the pandemic.”

CA. Gautham Pai D., Chairman of the Students Association of Mangaluru Branch and In-charge of this Drive said “We thoroughly appreciate the unmatched role our frontline Corona warriors, the Government and District Administration has played thus far in this fight against COVID. We are truly indebted to them for their unparalleled service rendered for more than a year now. It was a collective effort from the fraternity to support the cause & we are extremely delighted to have been of some support to the Wenlock Hospital that is leading the fight by contributing items that were urgently needed.”

The fraternity handed over 5 Multi Parameter Monitors, 400 NRBM Masks, 1,650 Face Shields & 400 Ventilator Tubing Circuits. District Medical Officer Dr. Sadashiv Shanbhag, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Julian Saldanha, CA. S. S. Nayak, Immediate Past Chairman, CA. Gautham Nayak, Treasurer and CA. Shantharam Shetty, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society D. K. District were also present on the occasion.
