Mangaluru: The situation in Mangaluru continues to remain tense with security tightened in communally sensitive areas of the city.
According to reports, stone pelting was witnessed in Kudroli, despite prohibitory orders and a curfew being enforced in the city. The situation was brought under control by the police through the use of mild lathi-charge.
Elsewhere in the city, the police are keeping a close eye on vehicles entering Mangaluru and suspicious vehicles are being stopped.
Earlier, a delegation from the Congress party was detained at the Mangaluru airport and sent back to Bengaluru. Former chief minister Siddaramaiah’s flight from Bengaluru to Mangaluru was also cancelled by the authorities.
