Mangaluru: Dr Satish Nayak, alumni of KMC, Mangaluru, has been appointed to the Texas Medical Board by Texas Governor Greg Abbot. One among six doctors appointed to the board, he now joins them in regulating the medical practice in the US state of Texas. His term of appointment is up to April 2025.
Former president of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and brother-in-law of Dr Satish Nayak, Rammohan Pai Maroor expressed the family’s excitement at receiving the news and appreciated his hard work for all these years to achieve this honour.
Dr Nayak has been running his practice for 17 years now, in a community of 18,000 people in Andrews, Texas. He has also been the owner of Medical Spa for the last 14 years.
After his schooling in St Paul’s School, Belagavi and at Bishop Cotton Boy’s School in Bengaluru, Dr Nayak did his PU from St Joseph’s College of Art and Science, Bengaluru. He then joined KMC, Mangaluru, where he did his MBBS and MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. That was when he met and married Sumana, sister of Rammohan Pai Maroor.
He pursued a DM (Doctor of Medicine) from the Westchester County Medical Center in Family Medicine, and then another DM in Transitional Medicine from the University of Maryland.
Dr Nayak is a family physician (Ob&Gyn) at the Nayak Clinic, a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Medicine, the Texas Association of Family Physicians and The Texas Medical Association.
Currently Vice President of the Yeriwah Megha Foundation, he is also a trustee for the Hindu Association of West Texas.
