Mangaluru: A seer from Mangaluru’s Gurupura on Monday April 11 announced an outfit to prevent cases of alleged ‘love jihad’ and ‘protect Hindu identity in the State’s Coastal region.
Sri Rajasekharananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Math in Mangaluru announced the formation of the ‘Hindu Task Force. “A task force was formed because members of other communities have been involved in relationships with Hindu females, spoiling the lives and education of our (Hindu) girls. Due to love jihad, most of the girls had to discontinue their education,” he said.
In response to the creation of the outfit, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai warned reporters in Udupi that his government will not allow anyone to take the law into their own hands. “Our government was formed by the Constitution. We work in the spirit of the law, order, and equality. Spreading one’s opinions is not a problem. The government, on the other hand, will not accept anyone who takes the law into their own hands or engages in violence. This message has been sent very clearly. We must protect the law,” said Bommai.
“Everything is dealt with by laws. Some of these laws were passed by previous governments. We are not making any new rules,” he added.
