Mangaluru: Moodbidri police nabbed three persons under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, on Saturday, February 9.
The arrested have been identified as Maxim Tauro, Vinay and Santhu alias Santhosh Gardady. Sources from Moodbidri police station said, a Kerala based person was living with his wife and 14-year-old daughter in Puchemogaru village in Moodbidri. This Kerala based person allegedly raped his minor daughter in the month of July 2018. When it came to light recently, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint against her husband. Followed by the complaint, Moodbidri police had arrested the victim’s father a couple of days ago and the victim girl was sent to a counselling centre in the city.
When police gathered information from the victim girl, she alleged that three others-Maxim Tauro, Vinay and Santhosh, residents of Venur and other surrounding areas had raped her.
The accused were remanded to judicial custody when they were produced to the court, police sources said.
