Mangaluru: Due to coronavirus-induced restrictions, the mosques remained deserted on Thursday May 13 as no permission has been given to hold namaz in the mosques on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Idgah mosque at Light House Hill, Pumpwell mosque, Khude Ali Jumma Masjid etc which used to witness huge crowds on Eid to offer namaz and to exchange greetings, were devoid of people’s movement.

People offered special prayers at their homes. After offering prayers along with family members, they exchanged greetings.

Because of the lockdown that has been clamped in the state, the Muslims have stayed this time away from their seasonal shopping relating to this festival. They are celebrating the festival in a simple way as advised by the district Qazi.
