Mangaluru: Several right-wing group members who gathered here in large numbers to protest the repeated instances of attacks on Hindus despite the prohibitory orders were detained by the police on Friday, July 7.
BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar and Harish Poonja, Convenor of Hindu Hitharaskshana Samithi are among those detained by the police.
The members under the banner of Hindu Hitharaskshana Samithi are staging a protest at B C Road, following the recent attack on an RSS worker who continues to remain critical.
Tight security has been deployed in the area.
Sulochana GK Bhat, Rajesh Naik,Padmanabha Kottary, Sathyajith Surathkal, RSS leader Prakash PS, Jithendra Kottary, Devadas Shetty, and several others participated in the protest. RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat was also seen in the protest.
