Mangaluru: The Indira Canteens, which has been catering economically priced breakfast, meals in Bengaluru city was inaugurated at three places in the city on Tuesday March 6.
The canteens are located near the service bus stand, Urwa Store and Surathkal here.
Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment B Ramanath Rai inaugurated the Canteen located nearby service bus stand here. State minister for Food and Civil Supplies UT Khader, MLA JR Lobo, Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, Mayor Kavitha Sanil and others were present during the inauguration.
An ambitious project of the state Congress government, the ‘Indira Canteen’ serves vegetarian breakfast at subsidized rates of Rs 5 per plate and lunch and dinner at Rs 10 each.
