Kasargod: A 28-year-old man, prime accused in a murder case died while trying to rescue a chicken that had fallen in the well at Kasargod here.
The deceased Mangad Aryadka Prijit was accused in murder case of CPI(M) activist M B Balakrishna in 2013.
As per reports, Prajit had jumped into the well to rescue a chicken that had fallen in the well. Though he had made attempts to come out with the rope thrown at him by locals he could not make it.
Later, the fire personnel were summoned who pulled Prajit out. Though he was rushed to the hospital he could not be saved.
Bekal police have registered a case.
