Mangaluru: Renowned singer and music composer Jerald Oswald D’Souza, popularly known as Jerry Bajjodi, suffered a cardiac arrest and died while performing in the Ganeshotsava programme on September 3.
The incident occurred at Pinto’s Lane in Bejai.
According to sources, Jerry developed a pain in his chest and collapsed while he was singing. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in city, however, the doctors at the hospital pronounced him brought dead.
Jerry has composed over 60 songs and presented musical programmes in and around Mangaluru and Mumbai. “Rosemary”, “Avoipona”, “Roopa” and “Mummy”, are some of his most popular songs.
Meanwhile, the video footage of him collapsing while singing has gone viral on social media.
