Mangaluru: Internationally acclaimed Kannada feature film ‘Naanu Avanalla Avalu’ is all set to release in the coastal city of Mangaluru on December 11. The movie will be screened at Prabhath Talkies at 10 am, 1 pm and 4 pm.
The movie, which premiered at the 62nd National Film Festival in May 2015 won two awards at the 62nd National Film Awards-Vijay for Best Actor, Raju and Nagaraj for Best Make-up Artists. The film was also a part of the Melbourne International Film Festival in August 201.
The film directed by BS Lingadevaru and produced by Ravi R Garani, depicts the life of the transgender community within the Indian society and the protagonist Vidya’s daily life as a struggle with neglect and disappointment; the movie depicts her life where though she grew as a boy realized that she had feminine characteristics and begins living as a woman.
