Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district Congress spokesperson A C Vinayraj alleged that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel did nothing during his term and his claim of development works done by him is nothing but an election gimmick.
Addressing reporters at the District Congress office on Tuesday, March 5 Vinayraj said, though the all-weather fishing jetty at Kulaihas been inaugurated now, it is not the contribution of the MP. The decision of constructing the fishing jetty was taken during the UPA government. The other important projects like ring road and national highway widening between Kulashekar and Karkala were also taken up during the Congress government. However, he claims for himself all the developmental works of Congress government just to misguide the public and to gain the confidence of public”, he said and urged the MP to produce proper documents to back his claims within two days.
“Though Nalin had promised of upgrading the Mangaluru railway station to international standards, no works have been taken up so far. The proposal of setting up an IT park in Mudipu is a project of UPA government and Nalin did nothing in this regard”, Vinayraj added.
Congress leaders Mithun Rai, Vishwas Kumar Das among others were present.
