Mangaluru: Former higher education minister late B A Moideen’s biography “Nannolagina Nanu” written by Mohammed Kulai and B A Mohammed as narrated by B A Moideen will be released in Town Hall here on Friday, July 20 at 4:00 PM.
Addressing a press meet at press club here on Wednesday, July 18, writer B A Moideen Ali said that Retired Vice-Chancellor Dr. B A Vivek Rai will release the book. Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, State minister B. Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly KR Ramesh Kumar, former minister MC Nanaiah, district in-charge minister UT Khader, MLC BM Farooq, MLC Ivan D’ Souza, MLA Vedavyas Kamath and others will take part in the programme.
The book is published by Bharatha Prakashana Jeppu, Mangaluru. The book consists of 232 pages and the cost of the book will be Rs 250 for each copy. On July 20, it will be given at a price of Rs 200. A total of 3000 copies have been already printed. The book will be also distributed to the libraries of various colleges in the district.
Speaking on the biography “Nannolagina Nanu” Mohammed Kulai said, ” Initially, B A Moideen didn’t agree on the idea of writing a book, despite being approached for past three years. Finally, he agreed to it. He did fight a lot of hesitation to open up about various aspects of his life. The book throws light on BA Moideen’s childhood days, marriage, family, and politics.”
Moideen purposefully avoided mentioning his contribution to society and awards he had received. Instead, he said, “I never served the society. I only fulfilled what is my responsibility.”
It is gathered that the book may be controversial as Moideen has spoken about few Congress leaders – Veerappa Moily, Janardhan Poojary, Oscar Fernandes.
It may be recalled that Moideen passed away at a hospital in Bengaluru due to age-related illness on July 10.
