Mangaluru:Budding Kannada actress Neha Shetty definitely made her presence felt in Cinepolis multiplex at City Center Mall today, September 24. Moviegoers inside Cinepolis premises were seen taking pictures of her while peeking into the press conference which was conducted by the multiplex authorities.

The beauty pageant won the World Tuluva Network (WTN) Miss Mangalore 2013 title and there was no turning back for her. No sooner this Bengaluru-based model won the 1st runner up in Miss South India 2015, that she was offered the lead role in ‘Mungaru Male 2’ which is also her debut film.

Mungaru Male 2 has broken all records of the Kannada film industry by grossing 15 crores just in the first three days. To say that the sequel of legendary Mungaru Male did much better in the theatres would be the plain truth.

The movie casts Golden Star Ganesh, V Ravichandran who is another sought after actor in the field, Andrati Ray and Sadhu Kokila. Speaking to the media on her experience while shooting with Ganesh, she confessed that she was nervous at first but once he showed how kind and humble he could get, she started loosening up.

“It was indeed very challenging for me as a debutant to shoot with these great stars. Frankly, I was nervous but then I did not feel that I should because Ravichandran sir was more like a role model for me. Both Ganesh sir and Ravichandran sir guided me as mentors”, Neha said.

“As an artist, I want to explore every role that is given to me and I am doing just that. In ‘reel life’ I am given the role of a bubbly and thrilling character, and in real life too I am full of life and joy. There were many scenes where I took the risk and did few small time stunts myself”, Neha said when she spoke about the part where she was in the car and it toppled.

“There was a lot of unsaid pressure on me to live up to the expectations of the movie enthusiasts and to match the actress of the prequel”, she said while speaking about her role in the film.

Neha was honoured by the producer of the film, Sharmila and Mangaluru Cinepolis Unit Head, Keerthan Shetty for being the face of Dakshina Kannada in Kannada movies. Neha was born in Mangaluru and brought up in Bengaluru, and is currently studying BCA as a correspondence course to make time for her shooting schedule. She is the daughter of Harish Shetty and Nimmy Shetty.

Cinepolis team applauded her achievement at such a young age and mentioned that it is a motivating call for all the budding talent in Mangaluru city.
