New block of the Government Lady Goschen Hospital ready by two months

Mangaluru: The long pending demand of new block of the Government Lady Goschen Hospital will materialise by two months.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel told mediapersons, “Ninety percent of the work of the new block of the Government Lady Goschen has been completed. The new block is being built from the funds of Rs 23.20 Crore under Corporate Social Responsibility Fund by MRPL-ONGC. The then MLA Yogish Bhat had a plan of building this new block of Lady Goschen Hospital. With efforts of the then union minister M Veerappa Moily, MRPL-ONGC have released Rs 21.70 Crore. But due to the technical reasons, the work was delayed.”

“Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also assured that he would be joining the inauguration of newly-built Government Lady Goschen Hospital. To equip new building with 600 beds and with various other equipment, Rs 1.90 Crore has been demanded from MRPL and already it has sanctioned 1.50 Crore. The last phase of work on the 5th and 6th floors are pending. It will completed very soon,” he added.

MRPL Director H Kumar, Finance Officer Prasad, Lady Goschen Superintendent Dr. Shakunthala, senior doctor Jagadish was present.
