In a gesture marking their golden graduation, the NITK Batch of 1973 has constructed and donated Prof A S Adke Tennis Academy Court 1 to The National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal. The state-of-the-art tennis court, built to International Tennis Federation (ITF) standards using synthetic materials, was inaugurated recently.
Generous Contribution
The event, presided over by B Ravi, the director of NITK, Surathkal, saw Udaykumar Yaragatti, an alumnus of the 1973 batch, as the chief guest. Director Ravi lauded the contribution, stating that it enriches the sports facilities of the institution and serves as an inspiration for students. He commended the dedication and commitment of the entire 1973 batch, highlighting their spirit of giving back to the institution.
Fostering Sporting Talents
The newly inaugurated tennis court is expected to foster the sporting talents of NITK students while instilling values of perseverance, teamwork, and dedication. Dayananda Surathkal, an alumnus from the batch of 1973, played a pivotal role in bringing the project to fruition through his tireless efforts and keen oversight.
