No entry for public into MIA on May 18 to make way for sanitisation process

Mangaluru: The entry of public into Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) will be prohibited on Monday, May 18 for sanitization works.

As the second flight from Dubai, ferrying Indians is expected to arrive on Monday late evening, the MIA has already taken precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

As part of this precautionary measures, it has planned to completely sanitise the MIA.

The authorities have issued a press release announcing complete ban on entry of public into MIA on Monday.

It can be noted that the first flight from Dubai ferrying 176 passengers reached Mangalore on May 12. There were some hiccups in receiving the repatriates at MIA and quarantining them later.

District administration has already taken utmost care to avoid such problems henceforth. It can be also be noted that among the 176 passengers, 15 were tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.
