Mangaluru: Though the holiday continues for schools and colleges in Udupi district for one more day, the Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil informed that there is no holiday for DK district on Wednesday, July 23.
As the India Meteorological Department (IMA) had predicted heavy rainfall, the deputy commissioners of both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts had declared holiday for schools and colleges on Tuesday. As the rainfall was not to the anticipated levels in Dakshina Kannada district, Senthil did not continue the holiday and informed that all educational institutions can function as usual on Wednesday. However, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has declared holiday on Wednesday too.
However, as IMA has forecast heavy rainfall for another two days, fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea.
