Mangaluru: All of the nine throat swabs from Dakshina Kannada, that were sent for COVID-19 testing, have tested negative. Also, no fresh COVID-19 cases have bee reported from the district on Monday, March 30.
This is a good sign for the district. So far, there are a total of seven COVID-19 cases in the district, including a 10-months-old child. However, 48 people were screened and a total of eight throat swabs were sent for testing on Monday. A total of 38,279 people were screened as on today in the Dakshina Kannada district. Among them, a total of 5,875 have been home quarantined.
Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, in a press release, informed that Asha workers have been visiting homes and creating awareness among the people about the precautionary measures to be taken to stop the spread of COVID-19. Asha workers have already visited 3,77,569 homes in the district and spoken to 15,33,783 persons so far, the press release said.
