Mangaluru: Refuting Congress MLA (Vijayanagar) Anand Singh’s claimed that there is a threat to the coalition government, the Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister U T Khader said that the state government was safe and would definitely complete its full term of five years.
Replying to a query on Anand Singh’s resignation and speculations of a threat to the coalition government on Monday, July 1, Khader alleged that the opposition BJP had been actively trying to destabilise the government, right from the time of its inception. “However, they have not succeeded in toppling the government till date. I heard the news of Anand Singh’s resignation only through the media. I don’t think he would go against the decision of the government. Though there are rumours about five more MLAs resigning, it won’t do any harm to the government. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will continue as the chief minister for the full term of five years “, he added.
About an Air India Express flight skidding after landing in Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Sunday evening, Khader informed that he had already spoken to the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the officials of Ministry of Aviation to find out if any problem existed in the MIA runway.
