Mangaluru: Continuing his attack on Siddaramaiah, veteran Congress leader Janardhan Poojary said that even if the CM is knocked out of power, not even a drop of water should be released to Tamil Nadu.

Addressing the reporters in Mangaluru on Monday, Poojary, who is now caught in eye of storm for persistently criticising the CM, questioned the Chief Minister of Karnataka as to why he has not yet spoken to his TN counterpart.

“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has the backing of six crore citizens of the state, why did he not speak to Jayalalitha about reducing the amount of water to be sent to Tamil Nadu?” Poojary questioned and also opined that the situation will automatically resolve if all the corporators, legislators and MPs of Karnataka resign.

He said that the situation will turn from bad to worse for Dakshina Kannada district as far as Yettinahole is concerned because the state will now opt to go ahead in full throttle implementing the project after the SC ordered the release of 12,000 cusec water to TN.

“There is no proper representation for the people of the coast in this state. It even hurts when Mangalore Woodland hotel’s branch in Tamil Nadu is ransacked by protesters. I will never stop supporting the people of Dakshina Kannada”, he promised.

Speaking about Digvijay Singh’s statement on “people” who malign the name of Congress, Janardhan Poojary said that Mr. Digvijay Singh should see for himself the ground realities before making statements.
