Mangaluru: The chairman and managing director of MRG Group K Prakash Shetty, whose name was recommended by the BJP state core committee for contesting Rajya Sabha elections, has now clarified that he is not an aspirant of Legislative Council elections due later this month.
Shetty in a press release clarified that he was an aspirant of Rajya Sabha member. However, BJP High Command had selected two senior members to the same post. As I believe that the party comes first then a person, I am happily welcoming the decision of the party and one should not feel bad in this regard. As I had been working as a sincere party worker for the past several years, the BJP core committee had recommended my name for the Rajya Sabha membership, for which I am always grateful to them.
However, recently a section of the media has been publishing fake news that I was an aspirant of a ticket for contesting Legislative Council. I hereby clarify that I was an aspirant of Rajya Sabha member, but not an aspirant of Legislative council membership, the press release of Shetty stated.
