Mangaluru: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Dakshina Kannada district has removed Ashton Pereira, from the post of its secretary, days after he was arrested on theft charges.
It may be recalled that Ashton and two others were arrested by the Kundapura police on a tip-off that three persons were making an effort to sell antique idols near Kotelingeshwara Temple.
The president of NSUI, an youth wing of Indian National Congress has ordered expulsion of Pereira from the post.
