Mangaluru: The Barke police, on Monday, March 25 evening, raided a ladies’ bar in Saibeen Complex and rescued around eight women being forced to perform obscene dances.
According to police sources, the raid was conducted on Golden Gate Bar in Saibeen Complex based on a complaint from the public about obscene dancing at a ladies’ bar. During the raid, police rescued eight women, who had been dancing in an obscene manner, and detained five men who were forcing the women to dance, for questioning.
The Barke police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating the matter.
It can be noted that Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil has been taking stringent action against gambling, prostitution racket and dance bars among others. It can be also noted that the police raided the district jail and seized weapons from within the jail, under Patil’s direction.
