Ullal: A commuter has alleged that people are being cheated at Talapady Toll Gate as employees of the toll booth are dispensing old tickets.

Zainuddin Abideen, a resident of Bokkapatna in Mangaluru has said that on February 14, he had traveled to Keralakatte at 1.20 pm. He had paid Rs 35 at Talapady toll booth for his travel. However, on checking the ticket that was issued to him left him in a fix. The details of the ticket were different. The ticket had registration number of some other car and even the travel timing mentioned in the ticket was 8.30 am.

When Zainuddin returned to the toll booth and questioned the personnel he tendered an apology. Even Manager of the booth refused to respond to him, Zainuddin complained.

However, sources at the toll booth said that since there were confusion with regard to Zainuddin’s ticket-ie whether he wanted one way or two-way ticket, the personnel at the toll booth got confused and ran into trouble.

Talapady toll gate started functioning couple of days ago and locals-both from Kerala and Karnataka region have been protesting against the same demanding exemption from toll for vehicles bearing local registration numbers.
