Mangaluru: Mangaluru special Forest Mobile Squad arrested a man and seized the horns of blackbucks here on Thursday. The arrested were held for attempting to sell two blackbuck horns here near the KSRTC bus stand near Bejai.
PSI Shekhar on reliable information arrested Maruthi Shivappa Shigatti (27) a resident of Haveri. Search is on for another accused Molali Mabuli Bade Sab Dulsi who is absconding.
The seized horns have been handed over to Mangaluru Barke police and the case has been registered at Barke station under Wildanimals protection act.
The operation was undertaken on the direction of Bengaluru Forest Unit General Hemanth Nimbalkar IPS, Police Superintendent Venkat Naik, by the Mangaluru special Forest Mobile Squad PSI Shekhar, HC Umesh Hosolike, Jayaram Rai, Honnappa Gowda, Ramachandra G, Basheer and Narayana.
