One held for desecrating Koragajja Shrine in M’luru

Mangaluru: Police has arrested a person on charges of desecrating Koragajja Daivasthana near Marnamikatte here on the night of Monday December 27.

The accused Devadas Desai (62), a native of Unkal near Hubballi was staying in City  since more than two decades. The accused was working as a driver and now working as a ragpicker. The accused is staying alone in a room as his wife and daughter abandoned him many years back.

The accused since three years has been desecrating various shrines including Dargahs in cthe oastal region. On Monday his act was caught in CC camera. The issue triggered strong  resentment  among the devotees of the temple.

Pandeshwara police has registered a case and are investigating.
