Mangaluru: One person was injured when two groups of prisoners reportedly fought inside the district prison on Saturday, November 5.
The injured inmate has been identified as Nithesh. It is gathered that, superintendent of the jail was speaking to Nitesh, Latish, Dhanush, Tilak and Praveen Kulal when Nitinraj, Hemachandra, Kartik, Pavanraj, Raghavendra and five others rushed inside and attacked the inmates speaking to the SP.
The groups were armed with stones due to which a glass shattered and Nitesh suffered injury.
A case of attempt to murder and obstruction of government servants from discharging duty has been filed by Barke police after the SP filed a complaint.
