One more woman succumbs to COVID-19: Death toll reaches 10 in DK

Mangaluru: A 57-year-old woman from Azad Nagar, Ullal, succumbed to the Covid-19 on Wednesday, June 24.

With this, the total number of deaths caused by the deadly COVID-19 virus has reached 10 in the Dakshina Kannada district.

As the woman was suffering from diarrhea, she got admitted to a private hospital in Thokkottu 10 days ago. As she had shown some symptoms of Covid-19, her throat swabs had been sent for testing.

When the results came yesterday, she had tested positive for the disease. Hence, she was immediately shifted to the Wenlock COVID Hospital. However, she did not respond to the treatment.

Sources said she had no travel history. As the woman has succumbed, measures have already taken to quarantine her family members. Meanwhile, measures have been taken to seal down the victim’s house and another house located adjacent to her house
