Only by being compassionate can we be a model for the society: Prof. P. Subramanya

Mangaluru: “Only by being compassionate from the inside, can we use the strength, the will and the opportunity to become a role model for others,” said Mangaluru University Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Subramanya Yadapadittaya.

After the inauguration of various projects at Mangaluru University on February 6, he presided over the programme held at D Veerendra Hegde Auditorium where he said, “being educated is not enough, we should be more sensible and it is our duty to give back whatever we receive from the society.” 

The Regional Manager of the Bank of Baroda City Zone Mangaluru, Sunil K. Pai, inaugurated the “Vatsalya Nidhi- wall of Kindness” scheme launched by the university and said that the Bank always assists the university in its society-oriented services.

The vice chancellor by handing over the attendance book to Committee Chairperson Prof. B K Sarojini, inaugurated the newly launched Mid-day meal programme for eligible students in the University. Vice Chancellor, from his personal account, handed over a cheque for rupees one lakh towards Mid-day meal programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Registrar, K Raju Mogaveera, said that the “Vatsalya Nidhi” should be utilized effectively. “In the present crisis of economic recession, each rupee of student fees should be efficacious,” he said.

On this occasion he administered oath to the students and launched the NSS activities for the year 2021-22.

Mrs Savita, Panchayath Development Officer (PDO), Konaje Gram Panchayat, inaugurated the Public toilet constructed at Konaje Bus Stand under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of Bank of Baroda.

Prof. PL Dharma, Registrar-Evaluation, Umesh Bhatt Y Executive Engineer, Dr. Govindaraj NSS Coordinator, Laxmikant Nayak, Sr. Branch Manager, Bank of Baroda were also present. Program Convener Prashant Naik delivered the opening remarks. Ramanji and Spoorthi moderated the programme.
