Organisations crack whip on tainted colleges; demand de-recognition

Mangaluru: Students Federation of India, Democratic Youth Federation of India, Makkala Hakku mathu Poshakara Sangha and Manava Seva Dal have filed a complaint with Mangaluru Police Commissioner to crackdown Expert College and other such colleges in the city, which feature in the list of 11 tainted colleges, in connection to the PU Chemistry paper leak case.

The parents and members of various organisations have demanded probe into the Expert College students who have managed to emerge as toppers over the last 10 years.

SFI District Secretary Nithin Kuthar said that since several years, the organisation had been suspecting foul-play and the CID raid will bring out the truth behind these centres that ‘churn out toppers’.

Keeping forth demand of legal action against the proprietors of the institutions and de-recognition.

Kuthar said that several students from these colleges have said that the administration had issued ‘model question’ papers to students at a cost of Rs 3,000.

“The students and parents think it is model question paper, not realising that they are cheating the government,” said Kuthar adding that the complaint of the organisations has been received by Commissioner Chandrashekar, who had in turn assured to hold talks with departments concerned.

Meanwhile, Expert College Chairman Prof Narendra L Nayak, who had earlier issued to media a statement that the CID had only visited the institution and not raided it and that he would file a defamation case against the media denting the image of the institute, refrained from speaking to newskarnataka.com.
