Mangaluru: A list has been prepared of religious establishments that are likely to be demolished in Dakshina Kannada District.
According to the information, there are as many as 920 illegal religious establishments situated in the district. Among them, 667 are temples, 186 Masjids, 56 Churches and 11 other religious establishments.
The 700-year-old Sri Vaidyanath Temple situated in Shaktinagara, Mangaluru too is said to be in the list, though the said temple has no information on the same.
In all, as many as 920 establishments are yet to be demolished. According to the sources, there is a possibility that as many as 400 religious establishments may be regularised.
The District Administration has been conducting a survey to obtain details about the establishments built after 2009.
