PAGE to organise programme marking World Alzheimer’s Day

Mangaluru: The People’s Associaton for Geriatric Empowerment (PAGE) will be organising a programme to mark World Alzheimer’s Day at the Town Hall, Mangaluru on Saturday, September 21 morning.

The programme will commence with a brief interaction with caregivers, who will share their experiences in managing people afflicted by dementia. This will be followed by a cultural programme organised by senior citizens, that will focus on victims of Alzheimer’s.

Afterwards, students will stage a skit in order to convey their perspective about elders affected by dementia.

PAGE is an organisation that aims to empower senior citizens by conducting various exercises, celebrating festivals and birthdays, organising health check-up camps and hosting fun indoor as well as outdoor activities.

Karnataka Fisheries, Port and Inland Transport Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangaluru MLA U T Khader, South Mangaluru MLA Vedvyas Kamath, IGP (Western Range) Arun Chakravarthy, Dakshina Kannada DC Sindhu Rupesh, City Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha and others are expected to attend the event.
