Puttur: Remember the hype that school student’s message to Home Minister G Parameshwara about transfer of four teachers from Haradi School had created recently?
The incident hit headlines because  Divith Rai, an eighth standard student of the said school in Puttur had spoken eloquently to none other than Home Minister G Parameshwara about the problems the school would face if Block Education Officer went ahead with the transfer plans of four teachers of the school, which again was outside the departmental rules.

The Home Minister had promised the do the needful and had also intimated Minister for Education Tanveer Sait to react and Sait had immediately taken action to stop the transfer of the four teachers.

However, the block education officer here has issued written instructions to the headmaster of Haradi School to relieve four teachers of the school on transfer and send compliance report to him forthwith. Teachers, Shubhalata, Yashoda, Lilly D’Souza and Vijaya have been transferred to schools chosen by them during the re-counselling held on August 5 and this comes as a development brushing aside the words of the Home Minister.

Distressed by the development, Divith had contacted the home Minister who had reported told him not to lose hope. Block education officer here, Shashidhar, said that like all other schools, teachers of which had taken part in the re-counselling including Haradi school have been issued transfer orders routinely.
