Mangaluru: A man who hoodwinked the authorities and managed to escape after being caught while trying to smuggle ganja at Mangaluru International Airport here on Friday, September 15 has been arrested within two days of the incident.
The accused, Mohammed Haneef who hails from Kerala had arrived at the airport to take a flight IX 821 to Doha. However, officials found him to be in possession of 4.5kg ganja and detained him before he managed to hoodwink them and escape.
Haneef who was arrested on Saturday from near the railway station here was produced in court which remanded him to judicial custody.
