Sullia: Police have detained three persons – a coolie and two auto rickshaw drivers in connection to the gang rape of a woman at Chokkady, Amaramudnur village in the taluk on Monday evening.
On Monday, June 25, the woman was headed home when the trio allegedly forced her into their auto and took her to a nearby rubber plantation at Chokkady. Here the three persons are said to have raped her and threatened to kill her if she told about the incident to others before dropping her off at Sheni.
The lady divulged the incident to her elder brother who started questioning her upon seeing some strangers dropping her. A complaint was filed with Bellare police in this regard.
