Mangaluru: Police arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with a chain-snatching case that occurred in Bantwal’s Kavalapadoor village.
The arrested, Ilyas, has been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.
According to sources, Poovamma (69) was walking along Thimmakka road on June 15 afternoon when a bike-borne person snatched her gold-plated silver chain.
A case was filed in this regard at the Bantwal Rural Police Station under IPC section 392.
Ilyas was arrested by police a day after the incident, and the stolen chain was recovered from his possession. The bike used in the crime was also seized by police.
