Mangaluru: A speeding swift car with four passengers hit an electric pole at the divider on Thokkottu overbridge on Saturday morning at 3 am.
Ismail (20) suffered injuries while other three passengers escaped unscathed.
According to sources, police personnel who rushed to the spot used wooden planks to lift the electric wires lying on the road to help other motorists and commuters pass through safely.
It is said that MESCOM authorities did not respond to their repeated calls. Finally the police PCR van had to go and get the MESCOM staff to the incident spot to clear the electric lines.
