Mangaluru: The police have arrested another accused in connection the murder case of history sheeter Kalia Rafiq taking the totally tally of those arrested in the case to five.
The arrested, Sadiq alias Blade Sadiq, a native of Vakodangazhi, was absconding since the murder. The police also recovered a revolver from his possession.
It is believed that a gang led by Kasai Ali alias Noor Ali who wanted to avenge his brother’s cold blooded killing by Kalia Rafiq in front of his family members had plotted the murder.
It is learnt that Kalia’s gang members had been on the lookout for Sadiq in an effort to kill him. Sadiq meanwhile went underground and joined Kasai Ali. Besides Sadiq, the other accused in the case Rauf too held a grudge against Kalia and was looking to settle scores with him.
Sadiq who faces several cases of murder, attempt to murder, theft etc. has also been booked under Goonda Act.
