Bantwal: The police opened fire at a gang of burglars at Manihalla in Bantwal on Thursday night.
In this operation three burglars were nabbed successfully while two escaped. Saddam Maripalla, Mousin Surathkal, Mohommed Irshad Bollai were arrested while Ammi and Mansoor from Ammemar escaped.
The police had signalled the gang to stop the vehicle that they were plying in, but when they tried to escape, the police opened fire. However, the cops managed to take control of the situation and arrested three.
Saddam is accused in murder and attempt to murder cases while Mousin has 14 cases lodged against him.
