Mangaluru: Seeking God’s blessings for justice for the state in the Cauvery water dispute, former union minister and senior Congressman B Janardhana Poojary performed Urulu Seve at Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara temple on Sunday, September 18.
79-year-old Poojary who spoke on the occasion said, “I pray that the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Cauvery water dispute should come in favour of Karnataka. There are a few other water disputes including the Nethravati River. I pray that solutions for all the disputes should come soon”.
Poojary offered prayers to all the deities in the temple prior to the Urulu Seve.
The veteran, after finishing the Urulu Seve spoke to mediapersons and said that the verdict from the SC will affect people. “The verdict if against people will lead to violence like we have seen earlier. I pray that verdict comes in favour of all,” said Poojary.
“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should take a wise decision this time for the sake of people. He has now an opportunity to create history by being in favour of the people of Karnataka. I urge CM along with his team of experts provide all related documents and statistics while presenting the case at the SC,” added Poojary.
