M’luru Police confirm arrest of Attavar; hold back on further info
Mangaluru: The arrest of Prasad Attavar was confirmed by the Bunder Police Station on Thursday afternoon; however, no one from the station was willing to divulge anything with regard to the case.
When Newskarnataka.com, called the Bunder police station in this regard, a constable on duty said that an FIR has been filed but it would be better that we “ascertain” it from the Sub-Inspector of Police, K K Ramakrishna.
On calling the SI, he further directed us to the Station Inspector Shantaram, who on being asked about the case said that the case is controversial and an FIR has been lodged but no further details will be given in this regard.
Earlier, Prasad Attavar was arrested in connection with the murder of Kannada scholar MM Kalburgi here on Wednesday, for allegedly making derogatory comments on social media. A case has been filed at Bunder Police station in Mangaluru, however, he was detained from Dharwad.
