Prayers offered to Lord Shiva at Kanchinadkapadavi cemetery of Sajipanadu village

Mangaluru: The ‘Bhajana Sankeertana'(Prayer) program, organized by the Hindu Rudrabhumi Samiti and the Hindu Rudrabhumi Development Committee on Mahashivratri was held at the Rudrabhumi Devabhumi (cemetery) in Kanchinadkapadavi of Sajipanadu village of the Bantwal taluk.

Often people fear entering the cemetery. However, the crowd gathered around midnight without any fear, prayed to the statue of Lord Shiva.

The committee’s president Yashwant Deraje said “A cemetery is a holy place where man attains salvation, on Shivaratri, we worshipped Lord shiva by offering Bhajans”.

More than 12 teams from Bantwal taluk participated in the ‘Bhajan Sankeertan’ program. The importance of the cemetery was highlighted with the Mahashivaratri celebration.
