Prime accused, two others nabbed in rowdy-sheeter Kalia Rafiq murder case

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Police nabbed three persons, including the prime accused in the Kalia Rafiq murder case that took place on February 14.The arrested are prime accused Noor Ali (36) from Uppala, Rashid T S (30) from Hosadurga and Husenabba (35) from Siddakate. Three others involved in the case are absconding.

Kalia Rafiq was hacked to death to avenge the murder of Muthalib, brother of Noor Ali. Muthalib was killed by Rafiq in 2013 at Uppala by Rafiq.

After five failed attempts to kill Rafiq, finally Noor Ali’s gang met success on February 14 when he was spotted late in the night in Kotekar area along with his cousin and friends.

The gang first waylaid his vehicle, chased and hacked him to death near a petrol bunk.

Vehicle and weapons used for the crime have been seized.
