PWD Minister visits Charmady Ghat

Belthangady: Public Works Department Minister H D Revanna along with the officials visited Charmady Ghat on June 19 for inspection of the section that was affected by the recent landslide due to heavy rains.

Speaking to media after the inspection, Revanna said, “As the curves in the ghat are very dangerous the government has decided to concretise the road. A report will be prepared after holding a detailed study. For the development of road in the ghat, a proposal of Rs 250 Crore will be sent to the National Highway Authority of India.”

The minister also sought a detailed information about the mitigation works carried out after the landslide.

MLA Harish Poonja and others were present during his visit. Revanna also visited former CM Siddaramaiah in Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital, Shanthivana, Dharmasthala.
