Mangaluru: ‘Raaja Nota’ (political glimpses of undivided Dakshina Kannada from 1952-2014), authored by journalist PB Harish Rai was released by Alva’s Education Trust Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva at Press Club, here on Friday, April 20.
Dr M. N. Rajendra Kumar, President of South Canara District Central Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion he said, “Journalist PB Harish Rai, in his book ‘Raaja Nota’ has made an unique effort to provide a glimpse of undivided Dakshina Kannada’s political history from the year 1952 to 2014. This book will be helpful to people to gain knowledge on the political developments that shaped the history of undivided Dakshina Kannada”.
“This will also be a comprehensive guide to the all the politicians of undivided Dakshina Kannada,” he added.
Addressing the gathering Dr. M Mohan Alva said, “Understanding the political history is very important. PB Harish Rai has put in tremendous effort to gather information on political history of undivided Dakshina Kannada from 1952 to 2014 in his book. This book will be also useful for the purpose of research and reference”.
He also suggested to Rai to write about the political history of all the 224 constituencies in the state.
PB Harish Rai welcomed all the dignitaries. Patrika Bhavan Trust, Mangaluru President K Ananda Shetty, Journalist Ravendra Shetty, Dakshina Kannada Working Journalist Association President Bala Jagannath Shetty, Press Club Secretary Shrinivas Indaje were present on the occasion.
